2017 TASH Conference has ended

Each year, the TASH Conference brings together a diverse community of stakeholders who gain information, learn about resources, and connect with others across the country to strengthen the disability field. This year’s conference theme, “Still We Rise for Equity, Opportunity, and Inclusion,” shows the resilience of individuals with disabilities and their families across the lifespan. Conference attendees will celebrate their passion for disability rights, civil rights, and human rights while exploring inclusive communities, schools, and workplaces that support people with disabilities, including those with complex support needs. Return to TASH website.

Georgia Advocacy Office
Citizen Advocacy and Community Development Director
Born in Macon, GA, raised in Chicago, IL for 16 years, later to return to Georgia and find my calling. I am a mother with a background in advocacy. I became a Coordinator "Matchmaker" with Citizen Advocacy for 10 years, where I brought two people together into freely-given relationships of one person with a developmental disability and the other without a disability. For forty years, I have watched local citizens provide powerful protection and advocacy by becoming protectors of legal rights, allies, found homes, and jobs for people, and accessed good healthcare and bigger and better lives. Many of these relationships have lasted for decades and countless advocate and protege relationships have benefited from each other, bridging the gap between isolation and community.
