Each year, the TASH Conference brings together a diverse community of stakeholders who gain information, learn about resources, and connect with others across the country to strengthen the disability field. This year’s conference theme, “Still We Rise for Equity, Opportunity, and Inclusion,” shows the resilience of individuals with disabilities and their families across the lifespan. Conference attendees will celebrate their passion for disability rights, civil rights, and human rights while exploring inclusive communities, schools, and workplaces that support people with disabilities, including those with complex support needs. Claire Dees is currently the Executive Director of Spectrum Autism Support Group. Her experience includes 30 years in the field of disabilities, both as a parent and a professional.
Spectrum is a non-profit organization, which she co-founded, providing support, educational and resources for individuals and families impacted by autism for the past 20 years, serving over 1500 families and their children in the Gwinnett and metro Atlanta area. She oversees camps, cummunity educational and training, programming, curriculum development, fundraising, event management, grant-writing and management of the organization.
Claire has been a lobbyist in GA and worked as a Community Engagement Manager for Parent to Parent of Georgia for four years, just now taking on a new role as Executive Director of Spectrum. She currently serves on the Autism Plan for Georgia Advisory Council, Gwinnett County Emergency Preparedness Committee and the Center for Leadership in Disability (GA State University) Advisory Council, and is the current Duluth Civitan President. She is a graduate of Partners in Policymaking and Leadership Glance Gwinnett.
Claire and her husband reside in Suwanee, GA. Her passion is helping families live better lives in their communities regardless of ability.
