2017 TASH Conference has ended

Each year, the TASH Conference brings together a diverse community of stakeholders who gain information, learn about resources, and connect with others across the country to strengthen the disability field. This year’s conference theme, “Still We Rise for Equity, Opportunity, and Inclusion,” shows the resilience of individuals with disabilities and their families across the lifespan. Conference attendees will celebrate their passion for disability rights, civil rights, and human rights while exploring inclusive communities, schools, and workplaces that support people with disabilities, including those with complex support needs. Return to TASH website.

Bellevue, WA

My name is Grant Blasko. I am a 21-year-old autistic college student from Mercer Island, Washington, and a devoted advocate and member of the neurodiversity community. My primary communication method is augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). My goal is to highlight the vital need for systemic changes to support neurodiverse individuals, especially those navigating communication disabilities. As a DO-IT Scholar at the University of Washington, I actively contribute to TASH's National Communication Access and Neurodiversity Workgroups. I serve on CommunicationFIRST's Advisory Council and CAST's Young Adult Advisory Board. I am deeply committed to curriculum accessibility, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and inclusive education and I am co-designing a course for classroom support considerations for AAC users at New York University's Program for Inclusion and Neurodiversity Education (PINE). In addition, I contribute to panels guiding autism professionals within esteemed organizations like the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), NIDCD, CAST, and INSAR.
